Rotorua Traditional Maori Healing Clinic, Waananga and Rangatahi Programs at Local Marae.
Wikitoria Maori Healing opened a traditional Maori Healing Clinic at Te Roro o Te Rangi Marae, Ohinemutu Village on Monday 30th April, 6pm-9pm – and Monday May 28th 6pm to 9pm.
This is a continuing service for the local community and visitors to Rotorua. The Clinic will also be an opportunity for Romiromi students to practice and further their knowledge of traditional Maori healing.
On May 5th-6th, the third Whakapapa/Maori Healing Waananga was held at Te Roro o Te Rangi Marae, facilitated by Te Arawa whakapapa expert, Rawiri Te Kowhai and Wikitoria Oman (teacher of Romiromi Massage and Traditional Maori Healing). Accommodation was provided at the marae.
Payment for Romiromi treatments is by koha for this community service.
Rawiri and Wikitoria, both Ngati Whakaue and descendents of Te Roro o Te Rangi, have combined their knowledge to share with whanau and the wider community in the Whakapapa/Maori Healing Waananga and the Rangatahi (Youth) Programs also based on traditional teachings passed down from their ancestors.
The Rangatahi Programs and Workshops, available for schools and community groups, are designed to empower, strengthen and support the youth of Aotearoa so they may recognize their true potential , live an inspiring life and fulfill their destiny.
