ROMIROMI – the journey – the vibrational shift Natural Healing for Health and Wellbeing
TRADITIONAL MASSAGE – Healing not Pampering
There is a big difference between western massage and traditional Maori massage. The latter is one of the Polynesian healing arts, a gift and tradition passed down from our ancestors.
The Maori world view is based on whakapapa (geneology), so is about our connections and links to source. Nothing is separate. The human body is a matrix replicating the universe so responds to universal lore.
In our traditional Maori massage we call Romiromi the person receiving the treatment is not passive. We acknowledge our combined tupuna (ancestors) working through us as they are our link, our whakapapa connection to IO, God, source, essence.
In our traditional massage we are strengthening this connection .
We are working with spiritual dimensions that are our birthright.
We are working with all the elements
We are working with Papatuanuku and Ranginui (Earth Mother and Sky Father). As Maori we know we are their descendants.
We are working within the Whatumanawa, Mauri and Wairua, the matrix without which we would not exist.
“The key to a healthy lifestyle is living in the now” a quote from my teacher Papa Hohepa De La Mere.
In traditional massage we are activating the human, universal matrix. We are getting you the recipient to release burdens, old energy from the past and to face your fears as they are about the future and don’t exist in present time.
We store lifetimes of trauma and ancestral karma in the human body. Romiromi can help to shift out what doesn’t belong to you or serve you in this millennium. Space is created in the body for the human to reconnect with his or her birthright, our whakapapa link to IO. A step closer to our original vibration.
Matariki, The Maori New Year, is an excellent time to have a Traditional Romiromi massage as it is a time of renewal and regrowth !
