Rotorua Romiromi ‘Hands On’ Workshop on the Marae.

Due to the increase in numbers for our Maori Massage and Healing Workshops, I have shifted the venue for our next workshop to our local marae – Taheke – on Lake Rotoiti by Okere Falls.

The marae is an ideal place for our traditional Maori healing, as our work is based on a sacred contract passed down by our ancestors. For romiromi and mirimiri massage therapy, and spiritual healing, the ancestors are always an integral part of the ‘mahi’ (work).

Last weekend’s two day workshop at Queenstown’s Nga Kete Matauranga Pounamu venue – owned by the Invercargill Maori Trust, proved to be an excellent venue for twelve people. The second day of ‘hands on’ Romiromi massage practice, saw some huge breakthroughs and releasing, with participants coming from different cultures and bodywork modalities.

The next Rotorua Massage Workshop at Taheke marae (Maori meeting place) is for those people who have attended a one day Maori Healing Introductory Waananga, and feel ready to learn and practice the ‘hands on’ fundamentals of our traditional Romiromi massage and healing, in a safe and sacred space.
